The second “International Mendelssohn Summer School” will be taking place this year from September 9th to the 22nd. Renowned artists will give master classes for violin, viola, violoncello, piano trio and string quartet at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, a historic mansion beautifully located on the banks of the Alster lake. Nightly concerts given by the participants and instructors will compliment the many master classes. Instruction on orchestra excerpts will also be offered on a number of days. In addition, the most advanced students will appear as soloists with the Minsk Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Elmar Lampson, president of the Musik Hochschule. Presentations and lectures on a variety of topics will complete the activities offered to participants and audience members. |
