The first »International Mendelssohn Summer School« will take place this year from September 4th to the 17th. Renowned artists will give master classes for violin, viola, violoncello, piano trio and string quartet at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, an historic mansion, beautifully located on the banks of the Alster lake. Selected course participants will be given the opportunity to appear as soloists with the Minsker Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of the Hochschule president, Elmar Lampson. Lessons on orchestra excerpts will also take place on 2 days. In addition, Andreas Post, the master violin maker and string instrument expert from Amsterdam, will be giving a lecture.
